2D - Developing Leadership Capability
At the 3D Leadership Consultancy we don’t believe in the sheep-dip training approach to leadership development. We do, however, believe in leadership development that enables individuals to make the sustainable changes that will help drive their business.
Training on its own rarely achieves this but coaching - or a combination of coaching and skills workshops frequently does. At 3D Leadership we take performance coaching very seriously and work to the European Mentoring & Coaching Council and the Association for Coaching’s guidelines using a variety of validated coaching tools and methodologies with our clients.
Our highly interactive Leadership Skills workshops are designed to meticulous standards to ensure we include only well researched, proven skills and theories that are relevant to your business need. We do not have an off-the-shelf package, but develop our workshops following the 1D Diagnostic phase so that the actual content and follow up is specific to your organisation.

The Role of a Coach
The role of a coach is to support and guide individuals through periods of transition, development and growth. Whilst you are expert in your business, 3D coaches bring an expertise to management and executive development that will help make a demonstrable difference to your organisation’s success. Learning and change is at the heart of all coaching so our coaching techniques are based on established models of learning and change and include:
Executive Coaching
Executive coaching can take three forms: it can be based on researched executive competencies, an organisation’s own competencies or the executives own individual agenda. This is because effective leadership development is sometimes best driven by a structured framework and sometimes it is best defined by the individual! Either way we bring our expertise to play by ensuring all development is sustainable and commercially relevant.
Performance Coaching
Performance Coaching takes individuals existing skills and strengths to their next level which in turn helps take their business performance to the next level.
This coaching helps accomplish considerable gains in many areas such as
- Effective negotiating & influencing skills
- Advanced presentation and communicating skills
- Managing organisational or personal change
Behavioural Coaching
Behavioural Coaching focuses on core skills that managers and executives need to be fully effective as leaders.
The aim of this coaching is to develop strong self-awareness and self-regulation skills in Behavioural, Cognitive and Emotional contexts.

Leadership Skills Workshops
The 3D Leadership workshops are highly intensive and interactive events that use the 3D Consultancy Model© approach following the three stages of: Diagnosis, Development and Demonstration. Our Leadership workshops are tailored to each client’s specific needs, and content can include a variety of skills areas such as Leadership, Motivation, Coaching, Managing Change and Influencing.
Part 1 - Diagnosing Leadership Capacity
Part one centres round diagnostics. Without some form of analysis it is impossible to know individuals strengths, weaknesses and the extent of any gap between the two. The first day is aimed at developing this understanding, helping individuals gauge their own self-assessment against that of others in their organisations. It helps individuals understand their own style more fully and at the same time enhance their skills in general areas related to Management and Leadership such as Influencing and Communicating, Coaching and Leading through Change.
Part 2– Developing Leadership Capability
Part two focuses on the three levels of our 3D Leadership Model©, which are:
- Defining a Leadership Vision
- Developing Leadership Competence
- Delivering the Leadership Goal
Part 3 - Demonstrating Leadership Capability
The final part is an opportunity for individuals to practice implementation of the specific leadership skills they have learnt and that will help them drive the business results within their organisations. This involves intensive skills sessions such as co-coaching, role-play scenarios, case study analysis, presentations and feedback, all designed to consolidate prior learning and embed the key leadership skills developed over the previous days.
