Assessing the business impact
Appropriate measures of change should be agreed at the beginning of any leadership intervention by identifying relevant success criteria. This helps evaluate the tangible benefit Leadership development has achieved and considering either the return on investment ROI or the return on expectation ROE is ultimately what helps us both tangibly assess the 'Demonstrable Difference'.

Case study 1
Diagnosing Leadership – Mark was a very successful Public Sector Director, but was experiencing problems managing a major, high profile project. A 360 ° assessment of Mark's 'Leadership Personality' provided two key insights; a lack of project vision and clarity of measurable outcomes and, a lack of effective influencing skills with his peers and key stakeholders.
Developing Leadership - Through individual Coaching sessions Mark developed skills that enabled him to positively communicate his vision and translate this into tangible actions for his team. He also became aware that lack of clarity was the root of his difficulty in influencing other key project stakeholders.
Demonstrating Leadership – In measuring the impact of his work, Mark reported that he had effectively communicated his project vision, developed individual goals so his team were contributing more creatively to the projects delivery and in addition had gained a higher profile for his project so he was also able to win previously unattainable stakeholder sponsorship that helped him secure on-going project funding.
Case study 2
Diagnosing Leadership - When we conducted an Employee & Change Management Survey with a large PLC we found a clear company vision and positive staff attitude on the one hand, but low confidence in a change programme and confusion about individual involvement on the other. The survey suggested a strong Leadership Vision but that the Leadership Skills needed to effectively manage the change needed development.
Developing Leadership - We ran a Change Leadership workshop for the Board and coached them through the organisational & behavioural change processes and skills that helped them effectively deliver their 'Change Vision' and embed the change throughout the organisation.
Demonstrating Leadership – We reconvened the leadership team to see what had been achieved individually and collectively and to assess what the positive business impact had been. We also presented back the results of a follow-on survey which found significantly increased clarity and confidence in the change project.
